recorded in the winter of 2011 in metro detroit, >more than a marathon< marks the debut release for super public. predominantly re- corded with analog hardware, the ep has an innate familiarity while still maintaining a focus on the 2012 marketplace. rudi thornburgh has been independently producing electronic music for over 10 years under various names but, most notably, clocklife. brett cimbalik has been playing jazz guitar for the better part of his music career and has transferred his chordal knowledge to synth guitar and electronic production. together, they form a sound reminiscent of the golden days of detroit techno while still exploring new terrain and bridging new ideas.

daniel stefanik is one of the techno and house newcomers of the last years. his carefreeness as a dj behind the decks and his likeable appearance are literally distinctive for a new generation of young, down-to-earth producers from germany, which are the result of the influence of väth, villalobos and hawtin on the one side, and solid but hedonistic house on the other. whereas many producers nowadays have dedicated themselves to only one musical direction, the influence of kerri chandler, chez damier or kevin saunderson is clearly noticeable in stefaniks music. his longplay debut for cocoon recordings is a mirror of all these influences and yet its so up-to-date and contemporary like only few other techno and house albums today.

after the amazing view from above ep on frantic flowers we simply couldnt resist to do another project with this guy. detroit legend terrence dixon, the mastermind behind population one, is a genius in the field of minimalism and reduction. as a truly unique character from the early detroit techno era, always being true to his own style, this ep brings 4 new cuts in his typical and recognizable sound. minimalistic monotone rhythms and weird loop constructions, always with the right tension in place, sometimes topped off with spoken words. on the title track i program my computer right, a weird guitar loaded affair, terrence dixon is accompanied by ulandra & tiaria, supplying the vocals. again a very collectible release on frustrated funks harbour city sorrow!
